Widescreen
Wallpapers
I've recomposed some
of my walls for widescreen by going back to the original elements
and redoing them. I wasn't sure if widescreen PCs were 1280x768
or 1280x720, so I made some at 768 and some at 720.

Milla
Jovovich "Undies"
Zip file with
1280 x 768
1280 x 720
1024 x 768
Milla is in her undies, hence the name.
A relatively simple wallpaper (a side-extension with some grain
and second image added), and still my favorite pic.

Hudson Leick Poof
Zip file with
1280 x 768
Hudson played Callisto on Xena. This may look like a simple wallpaper, but I had to recreate her elbow. The original pic is by Glen Guenther; the source is rather low quality.
800x600 Wallpapers
An 800x600 wallpaper
I made years ago (tweaked images from elsewhere, no rights of ownership implied;
I just made it for my desktop way back when). There probably
aren't any systems that still use 800x600.

Blade
Runner Game
800
x 600
The layout of
the characters is based on a promo flier that Westwood sent
to stores; the images are taken from Westwood's website.
Beyond the visual dedication to the film that is apparent
in every game-scene, the game provides a storyline worthy
of the Blade
Runner name, steeped in paranoia and fragile dreams. ...If
another game company would only pick up the license, it is
a world that many fans would no doubt enjoy returning to.

Shine T-Shirt
For sci-fi fans who know what a shine job is. Can you see in the pitch black like Riddick?
“Where the hell can I get eyes like that?”
“You got to get sent to a slam, where they tell you you’ll never see daylight again. You dig up a doctor, and you pay him 20 menthol Kools to do a surgical shine job on your eyeballs.”
“So you can see who’s sneaking up on you in the dark?”
“Exactly.”

The Hole in the Sky Gang
This t-shirt features a Farscape reference, from an episode where they wore ridiculous goggles (of course) on a sun-bleached planet, and Crichton dubs himself and Aeryn “Butch & Sundance” of "The Hole in the Sky Gang".

Action Figures
|
The best are works
of art, like sculpture except being plastic
and mass produced they're much more affordable.

The figures one displays are also symbolic representations
of aspects of one's inner self; similar to the
way one might display religious icons on a shelf.
Lastly, they may serve to help acclimatize people
to people.

Those are are my beliefs about the serious roots
of an otherwise simple hobby/bookshelf decoration.
So without further ado, here are my favorites:

Willow of Buffy
the Vampire Slayer
Six different versions
of Willow, including her kinda gay
vampire incarnation,
were presented by Diamond Select Toys in early
2004. As a namesake of sorts (Will/Willow), of
course I had to get every one.
Bleeding Edge Goths
These are the only figures
I've admired that are not derived from a tv
series or film. They are an artistic treatment
of various alternachick stylings seen in life.
As you can see, these are a lighthearted, playful
impression of this highly theatrical subset
of the populus. I
don't believe I have room for more than one
of these ...and I choose the one above.
Not pictured:
Art Asylum's Enterprise figures
Star Trek
the Next Generation figures by Playmates
Toys
Xena figures by ToyBiz
including Callisto et al
Aki Ross
of Final Fantasy by Bandai
This figure's opalescent jumpsuit was created
with a wash of silver highlights over a pearl
white base a hand-done effect that made
each figure unique in appearance.

3-ring Binder

UniKeep
View Case Binders
Transparent plastic. Sealed
on all sides. Made entirely of harmless polypropylene.
Why am I promoting UniKeep binders? Because I
want them to stay around; that will suit me just
fine. These are seriously convenient.
